ROBALINO Expands Insurance Practice with Incorporation of Legisla Consultores Jurídicos

ROBALINO, a leading Ecuadorean law firm, has significantly strengthened its insurance practice by incorporating Guayaquil-based firm Legisla Consultores Jurídicos on March 14th. This strategic move brings onboard Lisette Torres Ortiz as a new partner, who will lead ROBALINO’s insurance practice and contribute to its corporate department.

The incorporation also adds one of counsel and six associates to ROBALINO’s team, expanding its expertise in corporate, labor, administrative, environmental, tax, disputes, insurance, and intellectual property law.

Lisette Torres Ortiz brings extensive in-house experience, including nearly a decade as legal manager for San Miguel Industrias (SMI) in Ecuador, and leadership roles at Exofruit and other prominent Ecuadorean companies.

Managing Partner Javier Robalino highlights Torres' exceptional background and the perfect alignment of her team with ROBALINO's local and international objectives. This expansion addresses the firm's growing insurance practice and its commitment to attracting diverse talent.

This move follows ROBALINO's recent strategic hires in 2024, including additions to its disputes, banking and finance, and labor and immigration departments, demonstrating the firm's ongoing growth and commitment to providing comprehensive legal services. Notably, Torres' appointment marks the first partner hire in the insurance department of an Ecuadorean firm in three years.
